Overview
Travel by way of Holland Bamboo Avenue for a scenic tour to the South Coast of the island. Visit Appleton Rum Factory to experience the home of the world-renowned Appleton Rum. Have lunch on the banks of the Black River in this famous Georgian-styled community, which attests to its 19th-century prosperity, when Black River exported sugarcane and local logwood from which the Prussian blue dye was extracted for textiles. Next, drive over to the fishing village of Parottee, where you will board your boat for a short cruise to Pelican Bar. Swim in the region of this rustic Pelican Bar built over shallow waters, or just relax and watch the pelicans nesting on the reefs. You might be fortunate enough to witness dolphins playing in the wild in this specific area. Afterwards, return to the boat to catch your bus back to the hotel.
